Meet Mark Salisbury

I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 30 years. My teaching experience began in Japan where I spent 13 wonderful years teaching a variety of students: from school children to Japanese musicians including Nakanishi Keizo and Sugiyama Kiyotaka. I also taught business classes and to local municipality classes for the elderly.

In Thailand, I taught for at Rajabat University Maha Sarakham, Siam International School and Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. I was also fortunate to have taught in beautiful Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In the U.K. I taught General English, Exam preparation for IELTS and Cambridge.

During covid-19 I formed OWL and, with other teachers, built this teaching and learning platform. I welcome you all and guarantee an enjoyable and educational experience.

When I am not teaching I enjoy messing around on the computer and when the weather is good, going out for walks with the dogs.

The dogs don’t always walk!

Meet Katherine Musson

Katherine is a graduate of Durham University with a PGCE from Cambridge. She taught in various Primary and Secondary schools as well as adult education in Lincolnshire before moving to Eastbourne.

Here she gained her CELTA and DELTA qualifications and was Senior Teacher at the Twin English Centre for more than seventeen years.

She has taught general English to all ages and levels and has also prepared students for Cambridge examinations.

She is friendly and enthusiastic in her approach and enjoys creating and adapting different resources. Her motivation is to enable students to progress both in their mastery of the English language and in their confidence, particularly in speaking.

Katherine lives in Eastbourne and in her free time, she loves choral singing, walking in the countryside and swimming in the sea.

Meet Gabriel William Rowland

Hi folks! I am from Sydney, but have lived most of my adult life outside Australia, including in Ireland, France, USA, Italy and the UK.

I studied at Sydney University, have a CELTA and have been teaching for almost 20 years. I’ve taught all ages from all over the world in primary/high schools, language schools, companies, industry associations and government agencies, and have prepared students for Cambridge/CEFR exams. I am a published translator of books.

I have taught in state and private primary, middle and high schools for 15 years in various countries, and enjoy illuminating young learners through the wonderful and rich medium of English. I have acquired good learning strategies from learning other languages and enjoy helping learners become confident in speaking. I currently also work at a secondary school and have children of my own.

I competed in Rugby, Cricket, Motorcycling, and also love surfing, skiing and hiking. My first language was music, and I played in bands for many years. I am working on my first novel and would like to get my pilot’s licence one day. If I won the lottery, I’d buy an island and a boat!

Meet Victoria Whiting

Hello! I am from Nashville, Tennessee in the United States. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and have taught in the US, Ghana, Korea, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and the UK. I currently live and work in Eastbourne, England.

I have a CELTA and have completed module one of DELTA. I’ve been teaching for nearly 20 years and love meeting and teaching people from every walk of life and every part of the world.

My teaching philosophy focuses on broadening students’ horizons not only through teaching the fundamentals of the English language, but by focusing on the exchange of cultural, political, and traditional experiences.

I have taught general English to adults and young learners as well as prepared students for exams such as Cambridge exams, IELTS, and TOEIC.

Most recently, I was the Young Learner Coordinator for LTC in Eastbourne.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and baking. My house always smells of delicious food.

I cannot wait to meet you and begin this new learning journey.
